Designed by Michele De Lucchi, the internationally renowned architect. Arese Commercial Centre is inspired by ancient Lombardy courts and by the beautiful Valera villa with its historic hamlet. The architectural concept is distinctive in its use of a series of squares or piazze. Each with its own personal identity and each a meeting place. Indeed there are more than 200 shops, 25 restaurants, a medical centre, a sports complex and several play areas to be found there.
The entire area was designed and built following strict energy-saving criteria and bio-sustainability.
Standing out above everything is the roof cover made in Glulam. A laminated wood made with sustainable materials and for the first time used for a large shopping mall.
Where today there is now the largest Italian covered shopping space in the past legendary cars were being built. Indeed until 2002 this area was home to Alfa Romeo, and even if the historic factory no longer exists, the passion for cars has remained.
The old Alfa Romeo testing area has been turned into a brand new testing track. Run by ACI Vallelunga, 1,500 metres of track is there to try out your need for speed. There you can learn all about the importance of road safety with safe driving courses and attend events and exhibitions related to the world of motorsport.
The Centre provides a protected children’s area open from Monday to Friday from 4pm to 8pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 8pm. To entertain the little ones and leave you feeling freer to enjoy, in absolute peace, the numerous shops and services the Centre offers indoors.
For your 4-legged friends there is “Mi Fido”, an area just for your canine friends. Equipped with kennel areas, games, dogsitters ready to take care of them and any of their toiletry needs.
